Editorial Review: Product Description: CLOVER SB-810, B/W INDOOR PAN AND TILT DOME CAMERA WITH REMOTE Amazon.com Product Review: The Clover SB-810 B/W Indoor Auto-pan/Tilt Dome Outdoor Camera is an easy-to-use surveillance camera that can cover wide areas in a cost-effective manner. The SB-810 allows users to remotely monitor warehouses, construction sites, parking lots, office buildings and more with 360-degrees of coverage. The dome is both shatter-resistant and tamper-resistant, so you can install your camera in more trying environments. Easy to install with plug-and-play connections and a wired remote control, the SB-810 is designed for indoor use, but can be used in well-protected outdoor environments as well. This camera utilizes a 0.33-inch black-and-white CCD (charge-coupled device) sensor, with a resolution of 512-by-492 pixels or 380 TVL (TV lines). The SB-810 includes a 3.6mm fixed lens, with a minimum illumination down to 0.1 Lux and a better-than 46 dB S/N (signal to noise) ratio. The unit's exposure times range from 1/60 to 1/100,000 of a second, ensuring a high picture quality. The SB-810 has an auto-pan with angle settings that let you set the camera to pan 120, 240, or 355 degrees at up to 30-degrees a second, as well as a manually adjustable tilt. Powered via a 12-volt external DC power supply (included), it can operate in temperatures from -10 to 50-degrees Celsius. Technical Features:
About Surveillance Camera Technical Features Lux rating is the measurement used to indicate how sensitive a camera is to light, and stands for the level of light reflected off a piece of paper by a candle from one meter away. Thus a sensitivity of three Lux would mean a camera could generate an acceptable picture of a piece-of-paper-sized object that was illuminated by the equivalent of three candles from one meter away. The lower the Lux level, the better the camera's ability to work in low-light conditions. The camera's resolution should be greater than or equal to the resolution supported by the system's recorder or monitor. The S/N, or signal to noise ratio, is an important measure of a camera's quality. A poor camera, low-light conditions or poor wiring causes "noise" which consumes processing power and disk space. A camera with a wide dynamic range is ideal, especially for recording areas in which both indoor and outdoor light are present. CCD (charge-coupled device) sensors provide high-quality images that are less susceptible to noise. CMOS (complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor) sensors offer less image quality, but are usually more cost-effective and energy efficient. About Pan/Tilt Cameras A Pan/Tilt Camera has the ability to pan ("move" horizontally), or tilt ("move" vertically). IP cameras often have pan/tilt capability. A pan/tilt camera is ideal for monitoring of situations that need a continual real-time adjustment of the views. About Dome Cameras A dome camera is one of the most common indoor security camera styles. Mounted on the ceiling, and often built to be tamper-resistant, dome cameras are designed to be visually appealing and more secure than other types of security cameras. A true dome camera enables a continuous 360-degree pan and 90-degree tilt operation, providing for extensive room coverage. One disadvantage of dome cameras is that they usually are not suitable for low-light conditions and must be used in well-lit areas. |
