![]() Rating: - Verdi's Macbeth: "full of sound and fury.""Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more: it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing." Giuseppe Verdi composed operas based on three of Shakespeare's plays, Macbeth in 1847, Otello in 1887, and Falstaff in 1893 (based on the Merry Wives of Windsor). To my ears there is absolutely no difference in sound between the two. Around the Internet there is talk that EMI substituted without ... Read More Rating: - Verdi: MacbethWhile not on the level on the level of the sound quality of a recent digital recording, it is good, and its historic value makes up for the sound quality. I am glad I bought it. |
