From the supplier: The ability of the Rockport Fitness Walking Test (RFWT) to predict maximal oxygen uptake values was tested using 274 college students. Comparisons were made between uptake values obtained using RFWT equipment and those resulting from other equations. Results showed that the equations had a tendency to overpredict maximal oxygen uptake values by 16-18% in males and 22-23% in females. It was concluded that the original RFWT overpredicted uptake values in college students. Citation Details Title: Validation of the Rockport Fitness Walking Test in college males and females.
