- InterestingStill excellent music, not quite as hard rock as I like from them, but still an wicked cd. Rating: - Def Leppard is Back! This is the first new Def Leppard album that I have picked up, in ages. I haven't been interested in any others, since Euphoria, to spend my money on them. A friend of mine recommended that I pick this one up. So, after listening to the music samples on Amazon and watching the video with Tim McGraw on VH1.com, I thought it was worth the $10 Amazon was charging for the CD. LOL! I was pleasantly surprised. I like most of the songs on the CD. Although, I absolutely hate the song "Love" and haven't been able to listen to that one all the way through. Overall, the CD is enjoyable. Def Leppard seem to have gone back to their "Hysteria" sound. Rating: - I like this one I have let this one soak in for sometime and i feel i can do a fair review now. This is a good album, there best since 'Slang'. It does have a few duds on it but the good out weighs the bad. The production is what is my favorite thing about this album, it is not too glossy like past efforts. It is not as raw as 'Slang' unfortunately but it also is not polished as the dreadful 'Euphoria' either (all of the hardcore nut swingers saying bring back Mutt Lange well listen to "Euphoria' and you would change your mind.). Another plus is tha't it sounds like Rick Allen is back to the acoustic kit he used on 'Slang and sparingly on 'X'. As i said it is not 'Slang II' unfortunately Def Leppard's hardcore fan base is stuck in the 80's and would not allow the band to do another album in that vein. Viv Campbell's songs are the highlights here. 'Cruise Control' could have been on 'Slang'. Vvery erie , dark track. The best song on the album. His other contributions 'Gotta let It Go' and 'Only The Good Die Young' are very strong tracks aswell. The album opener 'Go' is another modern rock track that could very easily been on 'Slang' or a Disturbed or Godsmack record. Great opener. 'Bad Actress' sounds like Velvet Revolver, 'Tomorrow' , 'Come Undone' are also great tracks. The duds are 'Nine Lives', 'Hallucinate', 'Love' and 'C'Mon C'Mon'. Leppard really need to avoid all Rick Savage penned songs at all costs. All in all the good stuff out weighs the bad and it is refreshing to hear Leppard with a raw and modern sound on a handful of tracks once again. Well worth the 9.00. Get it. Rating: - New sound for Def LepJoe Elliot said this CD was a new sound for Def Leppard, and he was right. Unfortunately, I came to like the classical sound of Def Lep that is instantly recognizable, but I didn't care for this music. Rating: - Best CD since HysteriaThis CD rocks. Def Leppard really outdid themselves this time. You can also hear the influence that Vivian Campbell has brought to the band. It's a must buy for any Def Leppard fan.
