Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Guaranteed
'Guaranteed' is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. It makes my heart ache every time I hear it. The instrumentals, the vocal, the lyrics, they just send me. I was never a big Pearl Jam fan through the nineties, so don't expect any accolades or comparisons here. I "googled" Eddie Vedder just to find out who he was. I recently rented the dvd and the music has haunted me every since then. I bought the cd and enjoyed listening to it tonight. The 'hidden' track came on while I was busy cooking dinner and I had left the cd in play. I might never have known about it otherwise. This cd is as long as it needs to be. I enjoy listening to several different cds during the course of the evening, and 'Into The Wild' definitely makes it into my playlist. My taste leans toward acoustic, blues, jazz. 'Long nights' is my favorite song on the album. The thing about these songs is that they are true.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Short, but genius. Just like Eddie Vedder.
This is the music I've been waiting for from Eddie Vedder. The richness of voice matched with the passsion of his performance and lyrics with substance touch me in ways that Pearl Jam does not. He has produced other music with those elements, but here his warmth and sincerity are not competing with heavy rock sound. A few of the songs really remind me of John Lennon. No Ceiling would fit right in on Revolver. The first few months I owned the album, I considered it quiet and contemplative. After seeing four of his solo shows, I turn it way up and it has a whole different energy. The shortness of the album has an easy fix: hit play again.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great music
This may be a little softer than what some Pearl Jam fans expect from Eddie Vedder. Its the same type of music as his Crazy Mary single. I thought it was a great CD, even if you have not seen the movie or read the book the songs are moving.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Into The Wild Soundtrack Featuring Eddie Vedder
Great movie and soundtrack. Beautiful scenery to go along with the eerily smooth and hynotic voice of Eddie Vedder! Acoustics spin you in!

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - This is a Bias Review
Dear Sean Penn,
I know that this movie is set in the time of grunge's uprising of muddy guitar tones and lyrics crafted of the Fathers of the North Western Baritone Teenaged Angst, but really? Eddie Vedder? There was more around that you could have chosen, maybe someone who evolved from their flanneled past. There has been a near twenty year span since then. Look how far you have come from lovable teen to what you have become now.

Spicoli, this was a great film, but there was so much more that you could have made better, if you would have taken a little more time. Emile Hirsch should not have played McCandless, to whom he brought a body, but no justice in his portrayal. He acts too naive and looks too green to portray a tramp of the road for over two years. Maybe you should have thought about that, I Am Sam. I have no suggestion for you, and am terribly sorry that I dont, however. But dont get me wrong, I did enjoy your movie. I just thought you could have made it better.

Sir, on your next film in which you are behind the camera, please investigate in a little more musical taste than that of the diluted, choking voice of a 43 man who's career derives off of rock and roll's distasteful past.

Sincerely,
MrFisette
