 - A Simple Gospel Country CDI love when the country and bluegrass artists record some of the old-time gospel songs. All the songs on the CD by Alan are perfect selections. The harmonies are tight, and the music is soothing. The singing and instrumental is very simplistic, but pure and raw. You will not hear drums or his usual honkey-tonk sound. Just pure gospel music sung country straight from the heart. Rating: - WonderfulI am a country gospel fan and I like the way Alan Jackson sings all of these old songs. Rating: - Simply wonderful and wonderfully simpleMr. Jackson definitely needs to make more albums like this. I listen to this in my car over and over and over. I never tire of it. I sing along with it, and it just continues to be a favorite. The simplicity of it is what makes it so good. That and the fact that he sings these songs with such conviction. These are songs that I've heard all my life, but his rendition of each one just brings new life to these old hymns. I look forward to seeing another gospel album from this talented man. J Hardage Arkansas Rating: - My, MyI wasn't sure exactly what to expect from this offering. I was joyously pleased. Not knowing the intensely personal nature of the recording, it was a further blessing to learn that background. The loving intent is evident throughout. I love this CD. Jackson's rich voice is showcased by the spare instrumentation. I like also the straightforward presentation of these great old hymns. I find nothing missing in the warm treatment of their glorious, timeless message. My only wish is that he had sung more verses of some. A selfish thought, I admit, but, hey, it's my review. Thank you, Alan. Rating: - Very Inspiring and truly a Precious Memory!This album is absolutely wonderful. It has all those wonderful hymns that bring glory and praise to the Lord Jesus Christ. I have listened to this CD so many times I cannot count, and I never get tired of it. For anyone that loves the old hymns, this album is an absolute must!
