- Lyfe Jennings Speaks TruthI think I walked away with the title of probably being one of the first people to get this cd when it came out. I was feeling it on a lot of levels. To me, his voice is raw. Not everybody can sound like Usher or Brian McKight and I liked that. As far as the songs, She Got Kids, Must Be Nice, I Can't and Hypothetically are all songs that makes you think as well as want to sing along to. My only problem is I could have done without the interludes. Rating: - THAT'S LYFEI want to start by saying that this album has changed my lyfe! I've typed away many times before and reviewed too many albums to remember but this is a different review for me as it's raw and honest. I live in Australia and I would go as far as to say that I'm more than likely the only person in the country with this album. It was never released here. NO one has heard of LYFE, and no one understands what an artist he is. The album is rough at times in terms of production, but that is how they intended the production to be...At times it reminds me of BROWN SUGAR. The words are smart and witty, honest and pollitical, sad but true. All the tracks were written by LYFE, and so it personal. PERSONAL SELLS!!! people relate to PERSONAL. Not since Marvin Gaye has an artist affected me with voice and lyrics. For a year and a half I have had this album on rotation in my cd player and I never grow tired of it, thats the truth! Do yourself a favour and cop this cd NOW, then after your hooked try Tupacs THE ROSE vol 2 as LYFE appears on the cd. There is nothing more I can say, you just need to hear this for yourself. Rating: - On The Charts....For 75 plus weeks...And Still Amazing !Yes, this cd is still on the music chart, it came out in August 2004 and the sad thing about it is... people are just finding out that this is one of the best Cd's of 2004 and 2005 from one of the most talented artist out today. To date, Lyfe has sold over 1 million copies of this cd and this special edition features the regular studio cd and a live dvd from "The House Of Blues" in Los Angeles, you can actually see a true performer at work performing hits like the thuggish "Stickup Kid" the amazing "Cry" and the smash single "Must Be Nice" definitely something for your collection, it also features the hit video "Hypothetically" with Fantasia as well as the audio version and a hot remix of "Must be Nice" with Nas & more. If you don't have this cd, you should be ashamed, but you still have time to order this edition...do yourself a favor, you'll be glad you did.
