- just OKI've used Denise Austin's workout vidoes for years. I have to admit that this is not challenging. Denise doesn't appear to be in the best shape either. "Blast away 10lbs" is one of my favorites. Rating: - A Great Way To Do Your Cardio!I love this DVD! The backdrop is a great Ocean view, the moves are a lot of fun, & Denise is a great motivator! The Cardio works out multiple areas of the body, & the Sculpting section is very impressive as well. I love that you can customize the workout; & I recommend that you do the full Warmup w/Cardio/Strength & Cool-down altogether for maximum results. Once things get a little too easy for you, just get some heavier weights or even repeat the Cardio section... I do Pilates now but this DVD will still be useful for me for a long time because I am always in need of working out different parts of the body; I still use it every day in some way. This is definitely one of my favorites! Rating: - Challenging but funThe cardio and the strength routines are a little complicated, but I hope to master them with some practice. I had trouble with keeping weights nestled behind my knees during the strength part, but maybe I just need different weights. Denise moves between steps pretty quickly, so it can be a challenge for the uncoordinated. But I don't think you're meant to do it perfectly--just do the best you can. The best part: You can create a nice 30-minute workout by doing the warmup, the cardio OR strenght, and then the cooldown. And you do break a real sweat! Also, I felt like my whole body was worked out, not just a few muscles. This video is great for those cold, rainy days when biking or walking are not an appealing option. Rating: - Good, but not great. If I could give this 3.5 stars, I would. Normally I like Denise Austin, but this DVD is not my first choice. Most of the moves in the cardio section were fine, but some of them were so cheesy and dorky I felt ridiculous doing them. The toning section is pretty good, but as usual she only does a few reps of each exercise. I am keeping the DVD because I still do it now and then. Sometimes I use the "dance" section as a warmup for other DVDs that don't have one or on days when I am sore/tired and don't want to workout. This DVD is good for people that need a lot of encouragement or are just beginning to workout. You should just be aware that this DVD will probably not help most people lose weight or tone up quickly. This is the DVD to do between days of more intense workouts. For better toning exercises, I would suggest the Lotte Berk method and there are tons of cardio DVDs out there that are better than this. I like Kathy Smith's Time Saver Cardio Fat Burner and The Firm's Maximum Calorie Burn better. Rating: - Good workout!I like Denise Austin workouts. The fit is perfect for me, as she's easy to follow, encouraging, motivating and the workouts are a good variety. I have other Denise Austin DVDs as well and they're all challenging enough.
