- Great transaction.Received the item quickly and it was just as described. What more could you ask for? Rating: - My purchaseThe movie took over a month to arrive and when I emailed amazon and the vendor to complain they said that all they new is that the movie was in the mail. I will say that it was being shipped to an APO address which makes it harder to track. Rating: - Commitments reviewThere really isn't much of a story line here. Band gets together to play soul music, band members fight about stupid stuff, band breaks up but has the memory of being great once. Music is really good though. Rating: - Soul shaking fun!I love this movie. I'd love it for the music alone (in fact, I bought the sound track, too) but the earnest 16 year old soul band leader, played by an amazing Andrew Strong, draws in anybody who was willing to climb uphill for something he really enjoyed. Lesser characters also prove to be compelling, such as the teenager who is pressed into service as her siblings' surrogate mom and sees her singing career slide away on a tide of poverty and family responsibility.Worth the price of admission: The Commitments' version of Try A Little Tenderness. Rating: - Love the verve!I do so enjoy this two disk set. Not only is the movie a music classic ( given the context in which the story is set)but the way the selected actors take their part and deliver. The second disc give the audience a solid background in which the "frame" the movie inself. Highly recommended, and remember - for those who like to key in on memorable line from a film ... Soul music, say it..I'm black and I'm proud !
