 - Quite possibly the WORST GAME EVER!I bought, played and returned this game in less than one hour. The description of the game on the back of the case sounded awesome, which I guess was too good to be true. To simplify my review, here's a list of pros and cons: Pros: - The store believed me when I told them it didn't work, and refunded my $49.99. - For those not fortunate enough to get a refund, the disc makes for a nice paintball target. Cons: - Horrible graphics. - Choppy movement; when a character dies, he falls to the ground in three stuttered movements. - No variety. The missions are all the same and only the environment changes, which literally gets boring after minutes. While some would say this sort of game has a high replay value, I would beg to differ. If you can keep yourself entertained performing the same stupid tasks over and over, you deserve this game. - No plot. There are something like 16 levels, yet there are no real "missions" and there is no story to follow. If you are familiar with any of the Tom Clancy games, Counter Strike is certainly nothing compared to them. You basically just pick the environment in which you want to play in, and repeat the redundant task of saving hostages, or disarming bombs (unless you pick the terrorist team, then you guard the hostages and defend the bombs). If you like that sort of mindless, repetitious gameplay, buy Unreal Championship. It's much better and at least it has a plot with different "game ladders". - No entertainment. As I stated above, I excitedly bought this game and rushed home to play it, only to discover it was quite possibly the worst game ever (most definately the worst Xbox title ever). When I say there are only two tasks involved in this game, I'm not exaggerating. Sure, most people buy it so they can shoot at strangers online. But I reiterate, get Unreal Championship instead! I strongly urge those considering purchasing this game to look elsewhere. If software companies make games this poor, and people actually buy them, the software companies will continue to soil the video game gene pool with games like Counter Strike. I only wish there were an option to rate this game with a negative number or, failing that, a fraction. Rating:  - Not bad on Xbox, but lacking...I'd say I'm pretty good at FPS (First Person Shooters) and that's why I think there's something lacking from this game. It's hard at first, only because you have to adjust to the controls, but once you get a feel for the game the AI starts to die. I played CS since Beta 1, which now feels like many years ago; and I've seen it evolve since then. The Xbox version offers average graphics (some have said it's better on Xbox, but they're not running 64 Meg+ video cards) but more is wanted. The guns are the same as v1.7, so there's no difference there; and the levels are basically the same. The developers made new levels, but you can tell they weren't tested extensively because it's horribly unbalanced. You'll notice right away that one side will always win (normally the score is 1-10 ratio) unless a human factor is added. The bots aren't bad; it's like playing online for the most part. You still get frustrated when a dumbass is still camping and the bomb is about to go off. Or when you have to just sit there and watch someone stare at a wall until they're killed. It's alot like playing online. My real complaint about the bots is they're too easy until they nail you with the AWP, but the most part they're not bad. It's nice playing in an arena that's cheat free; but for the most part playing on the computer, online, is better. Rating:  - don't get coughtMy friend had this game and he told me about it at school. So I went to his house and started to play it and I liked it alot. When he went to the bathroom I told him that I had to leave so when he left I stole the game. I walked out of his house and then I went home. I played that game all night. I was so happy that I got a really fun game and I didn't even have to pay for it. He called me the next day and I told him that I didn't know what he was talking about and that I was never at his house. He didn't believe me but I hung up so I didn't have to hear him rag. This game is must have game even if you steal it from your friends. Rating:  - Better off playing Bond on 64, without the missionsWorst game i have ever played. Besides maybe all the batman games. Seriously don't waste your time. If you rent it i bet you take it back the next day and tell them it didn't work so you can get a different game. Waste of time, people are jumping on the FPS bandwagon and this is one that hopes to get buyers just from that point. The Graphics and not as good as nintendo 64, the guns and the gun sounds are the only thing i liked in this game. Most of the time i was just unloading on a wall listening to the speakers. Rating: - Jeez, never heard of CS?Okay sure you have very limited gameplay in the first person mode but hey, CS is a online game not single player. CS is probably the most real game anyone could get. First of all if you die, you DIE. This is real life people. If your killed your killed.
