- Loved the movie as wellI like this CD because it is Willie and it follows the movie as well. If you have not seen the movie, watch it. If you don't have the CD, buy it! You will not be disappointed. Rating: - TIMELESS AMERICAN MUSICsparse, haunting, and poignant-- Willie Nelson's THE RED HEADED STRANGER is all this and more...with the economy of a Chekov short story, Willie and his band tell a tale of sin, death, and redemption in the mystical and mythic West..."Hands on the Wheel" breaks my heart every time.... Rating: - Vintage tale spinning NelsonFirst, I find it odd to be invited to review the CD since I bought it for a friend and delivered it to the friend within two days of receipt. But there are some Nelson singles that are among the top music ever made, in my opinion, exemplified by "You were always on my mind". Probably others as well. I listened through most of the album before driving down to the friend's town. The review title, vintage tale spinning Nelson, is my impression of this list of works. It is one of a few releases that truly focus on telling the stories, not so much exhibiting the musicianship. I like it. Rating: - willieanother gift for my husband. he asked for it quite a while ago and i found it on a list of his.. he was pleasantly surprised Rating: - Happy sisterMy sister was ecstatic when she opened this.
