- Eh...get it for lessProbably the only Queen related album I won't give 5 stars. I bought this album thinking it was all performed at the Tribute Concert, I was wrong. Only 2 of the tracks are from the Tibute concert which is what makes the CD worth buying. But the rest are from a George Michael concert a few days after. Except of course for "Dear Friends" which is from Sheer Herat Attack. It might have gotten more stars if they would included "39" on it. I guess its a good deal if you are a George Michael fan and an Queen fan, but Queen fans shouldn't stress out over not having it, but it is nice to have just for those 2 tracks. Rating: - Queen and George...I like itA fantastic account of George Michael's stunning performance at the Freddie Mercury Tribute concert. Well, only two of these songs were from that show...."Somebody to Love" was the best perfomance of the night, bar none. He hit every note to perfection and the surviving members of Queen backed him up with pure exuberance. "These Are the Days of Our Lives" has George dueting with the soulful Lisa Stansfield and the resulting product makes your head sway. The other tracks on here are just George (no Queen or Lisa) but they are fun to listen to. His pairing of "Killer" (a hit for Seal) and "Papa Was a Rollin Stone" was brilliant, the lyrics for the last fit the beat of the first exactly.George would make a fine lead singer for Queen, if that ever happens. Rating: - Please, get any true Queen records !!The tribute is a great cause but George Michael can't sing... Why didn't Roger Taylor and Brian May sing instead of him ? It would have been much much better. Just buy "A Day At The Races" if you want an amazing "Somebody To Love" song... I know George Michael didn't want to replace Freddie (really ?) but I still think it's a shame to produce such parody. Rating: - Outstanding tribute to the great artist; great cause, too..This CD is absolutely marvelous, for two reasons... It makes a tribute to Freddie Mercury and it raises money for a good cause. Calm down, worried FM's fans... George Michael never meant to take FM's place. What he meant to do was to salute the man, whom he loved and admired as much as the rest of us. He did an excellent job, too! People may not know this, but it was George Michael who added "Dear Friends" (a very touching and appropriate song that features FM's vocals). So, he should be credited for this warm and sentimental touch. I don't think GM's vocals are anything like or as good as FM's were. However, anyone who saw FM Tribute Concert knows that none of the singers except George Michael did a good job covering Queen songs. This CD makes up for all the flaws of that concert. I hope it will continue to raise money. Who wouldn't like to listen to the beautiful "Calling You" and "These are the Days of Our Lives" as a tribute to FM? Rating: - Just a Nice TributeI Personally cannot stand George Michael's voice and the claims people make that he sounds closest to Freddie is absurd. The Freddie Mercury Tribute is a great cause.. and this made lots of money. But George Michael, IN MY OPINION, cannot sing.
