Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Please punish me!
If bondage is your bag, then don't let the title fool you. The characters are more slaves to their emotions than to any physical bonds. On the other hand, if sweet sensitive yaoi is, this one's for you. I will say I do like my uke with a little more bite. But coming off of The Crimson Spell and Vald's sexy demon uke I suppose any other would pale in comparison. Don't get me wrong, even though Tsukasa was very vulnerable and naïve I found him endearing rather that annoying. Tsukasa, who is used to being used by men and thrown away, is moping in a hotel bar after Konishi (a total jerk) dumps him. He is picked up by a gorgeous mystery man and they share a night of passion. Tsukasa's mystery man will not reveal his name, saying it's more fun if they know nothing about one another. They begin meeting every Friday in the same hotel room. The story takes a surprise turn when they learn one another's names, and the game changes dramatically. There are a few illustrations. My favorites are when Tsukasa is tied up and when he is "sitting" on Takeshima's lap! All in all a sweet little yaoi novel.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Yum!
I, like another reviewer thought this was a manga, and was a little disappointed when it arrived and was a slim mass media book. I put it on my bookshelf for a bit, and after running out of other reading material, I brought it into work to read during my lunch break. I was so engrossed I ended up taking a much longer lunch than I should have! I couldn't wait to get home to finish reading it!! Ok, so the uke was a little weak and a bit winy, but the story was fairly compelling, and the sex scenes were seriously hot!! I recommend it. It's a quick read, but it is quite tasty.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Man Oh Man
All I have to say is if you want a story that just keeps getting better and better then you'll want to read this. I had problems putting it down, it's such a great story!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Yaoi Novel
This is the best Yaoi novel I have ever read. I admit, I have only read about ten, but that is only because I found them so disappointing. "Caged Slave" is a well plotted story, easy to follow (I have found some Yaoi novels to have very confusing plots, although that might be because I am not Japanese so am missing some cultural understanding or it might have been a poor translation), very few typos, and with quite a few steamy scenes of a very adult nature. I was extremely pleased with this buy and wish the author had more that just this title available in the US for purchase.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - you don't want it to end....
..........or at least, I didn't. After suffering through the stench of Immoral Darkness (another yaoi novel), Caged Slave was a breath of fresh air. Not only does it have very steamy sex scenes that are well-written, it develops into a love story. The novel is mostly from Tsukasa's viewpoint so I would have liked to have known more about why his boss falls in love with him--but that's a small quibble. The story develops from a casual encounter to a mutual love relationship, where both partners respect each other. I wouldn't have assumed that from the title ("Caged Slave" implied an unequal relationship), so I was happily surprised to see that it wasn't about one person exploiting the other.

The novel flows well and keeps your interest throughout the story, to the point where I would have been happy to read a sequel. I'm a sucker for happy endings, so Caged Slave was especially satisfying.
