- Good, but not the bestI have really enjoyed the Stephanie Plum series. Evanovich is a talented author, and I love her characters in the books. But fearless 14 was just a tad bit dissapointing. It wasn't nearly as funny as some of the previous books, and the characters didn't really evolve all that much. Rating: - More of the same....I love the Stephanie Plum series, but honestly, this isn't the best of the bunch. As someone else said, there seem to be some recycled scenes in this book, but I still found them funny. Grandma Mazur is always good for a laugh and Lula is really "over the top" in Fourteen. I wanted a little more of the Ranger and Stephanie relationship in this book, but the Joe and Stephanie relationship seemed to be more the focus. Do I recommend this book? - Of course. You have to read it if you like the series. It is an amusing, light, read. Do I recommend that you buy the hardcover? - Nope. The story is too short to charge hardcover prices. Wait for the paperback or visit your library. Rating: - Disappointed.....I love the Plum series and just began reading them this year starting at the beginning reading one after the other in just a few months. I couldn't put them down. This one though I have to say was very disappointing. The character's just didn't progress in this book. I think the series may need to come to a finale as much as I hate to see it. If you love the series don't let this keep you from enjoying them. This one though is very forgetable and does not live up to the rest of the series at all. The next book needs to be great to make up for this disappointment. Rating: - Farewell Ms Plum!I loved this series of books. I wasn't very impressed with #13 and this one was even worse. My husband said he could always tell when I read a Stephanie Plum novel because I'd burst out laughing when reading. Very few laughs in 13 and none in this book. Janet Evonich has grown tired of her own character. It felt lazy and that she tried too hard to be funny, but missed the mark completely. I wouldn't recommend this book. Rating: - No disappointments hereJanet Evanovich continues to produce a fun and lively tale of the mishaps of Stephanie Plum. One would think that by the 14th installment, the story lines would get a little stale, but there are no disappointments with this rolicking tale. Evanovich continues to wrest laughter from the reader in spite of themselves as she takes our heroine from one implausible situation to another. Quite frankly, it is the side characters that continue to keep this series fresh and appealing. Fun and easy read. You won't regret the time spent.
