Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - If you just want the music, mp3 is fine, if you want more, get the CD
I admit that 90 percent of my music purchases are now downloads. Rarely do I buy a CD. Usually, if I do buy a CD, it's because it's not available as a download. That's not the case with the Egypt CD.

I'm a Deadhead and have two of the three nights on CDR, and since most of this release is drawn from the 16th, which I have on CDR, I'm essentially buying what I already have. However, the audio quality here is much improved.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Dead at the pyramids
Sound quality great; Vacation Video a treat; A must for any archivist with a nostalgic feel; one of the last shows with Keith and Donna Jean.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Keep in mind , it's hard to be impartial
My musical love affair w/ the Dead just celebrated it's 40TH birthday. Although my musical genre pallet comprises thousands of bands , the Dead are the Dead , and will always be held in high regard w/ me.
So , sometimes it is hard for me to remain impartial when reviewing material released by the band. I always find things to love , and things to wish that went better.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - the dvd is just ok
considering almost everything from 65-77 was outta this world..this year pales in comparison..the video doesnt have consecutive songs for the most part..and the first set songs are better than what we're used to for second set songs..i can see why they chose to not release these sets to pay for the trip..if you want GD from this era, they really get it together for the new years show 1978 which is one of the best..so save your money from egypt and get closing of winterland 1978
