In contrast to these commercially-successful but not always critically acclaimed albums, the 1994 live double album, A Night in San Francisco was a "tour-de-force", clearly demonstrating Morrison's talents and his influences in equal measure and reached #8 on the UK charts. The Rolling Stone magazine review states the album stands as: "the culmination of a career's worth of soul-searching that finds Morrison's eyes turned toward heaven and his feet planted firmly on the ground." Rating: - A Night to rememberIt's not always easy to pick a favorite when it comes to something you like, such as Van Morrison. However, this album is easily my favorite. Remastered and repackaged on this 30 June 2008 re-issue, there's even a half-decent bonus track tagged onto the end of CD 2 - "Cleaning Windows". The album's just as good as its famous 1974 predecessor - the legendary "It's Too Late ... Read More |
