I first saw this movie when it came out in theaters and I never get tired of watching it. It makes you forget all your troubles and takes you into the wonderful world of make believe movie magic. Rating: - One of the best slapstick comedies finally on DVDI've been waiting for years for this to be released on DVD. The old VHS tapes were getting worse every year. This is one of my favorite classic 60s slapstick comedies. Goes together with "The great race", "Those magnificent men in their flying machines" and others. Brilliant set of actors, fun (slapstick comedy) plot, lots of action - perfect family feature. Peter Cook and Dudley Moore play together as in so many of their movies - just fantastic. Then of course, there's Tony Curtis, Gerd Froebe ... Read More Rating: - Defective DVD.I've waited for years for this to come out on DVD as it's one of my favorite movies. However, I can't get the DVD to play in any of my DVD players including the ones on my computers. It won't load at all other than to recognize the title. I can't access the menu or anything. What a dissapointment. It's not worth going through the hassle of trying to return an opened DVD to Amazon so I guess it's going in the trash. Has any one else had this problem with this disk? I'd be willing to purchase it a second ... Thomas is at his fiendish best, Curtis is charming, Hampshire gorgeous and Cook and Moore are hilarious. This is real enjoyable romp.....much better than it's predecessor "Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines" and almost as good as "the Great Race" ... "It's a Mad, (repeat) World" was the first of these I remember, but many more were made. This is among the last that was a comedy that I can think of. For good reason. My wife has had a terrible cold and felt rather inert and passive. The perfect night for a comedy to have her rolling ... Read More |
