![]() Rating: - "Cute, light, fast!"I'm not sure as to why this laptop is getting such mixed reviews. Mine is great! It's light, very fast, and with the LED back-lit screen, it has a magnificent display--right up there with Sony's best. I would suggest the longer battery--even with the energy conserving LED back-light. The unit is quiet, and (in red) draws a lot of attention. If there's one complaint it might be that the display--hough bright--does not have the sharpest resolution. This is a minor issue unless you ... Read More Rating: - Too many superlatives, too little timeThere's a poster in our school's "College and Career Center" that reads: "College is not a prize to be won, but a match to be made." I suppose the same goes for computing. The best laptop is not a super-expensive toy to feature, but--again--a match between the user and the product. In this case, the M1330 fit almost perfectly. When I began my quest for a laptop, I wasn't in the market for some bank-busting dream system that ran at twenty petaflops a second. What I needed was a reasonably ... Read More Rating: - Just More Run Of The Mill Dell'sI use Dell computers at work and no matter which model they try from Dell D630-830 to XPS they all blow. Slow load times with XP even with 3GB ram. Dell makes grade C laptops, nothing impressive or new for the hefty price tag, I guess that red paint on the monitor must be expencive and it adds obviously nothing to the notebook. Crashes, data loss and hardware bugs galore, and the XPS could barely run VMware at native speed whereas the Macbook pro runs parallels with ease with Vista, Ubuntu and OS X ... Read More Rating: - Best of the BESTThis Dell was by far the best computer I have so far (I went through 3 HP's). This is my first DEll and it is perfect. It is light and easy to use. I always wanted it customize -- this computer has already done it for me. I'm a short and petite person, therefore, carrying this laptop around campus was an easy breeze for me. Everything loads really fast --- including the new version of Windows Vista. The loading is like a blink of the eye. The web cam from dell is super good.. way better than HP. It even ... Read More Rating: - love the laptop, hate the companyAfter reading lots of good reviews for the Dell XPS M1330 (e.g., cnet and pcmag websites among others), I purchased two of them, one for my wife, one for me. The configuration of our laptops is a bit different than the one on this page, and I urge you to custom-configure yours at dell's website rather than buying a pre-configured one (unless you're in too much of a hurry to wait an extra week to get it custom-built to your specs). We both love the laptops. First, I'll list all the good things, ... Read More |
