While this EP (extended play -- shorter than a full-length CD) may not be as complete as Josh Groban's delightful Noel, this swings sweetly. The opener "Let It Snow..." swings with a peppy beat. Mel Torme's classic "The Christmas Song" wears well here with Michael's rendition. David Foster's "Grown Up Christmas List" that Natalie Cole first brought to my attention is a lovely melody which Michael polishes into my favorite track on this set, "No more ... His rendition of "I'll Be Home For Christmas" would touch the soul of the most hardened Scrooge. Michael Buble's style reminds one of Frank Sinatra with one difference: the quality of his voice is ten times better. My only complaint with this CD is that it is all too short. I would have enjoyed six more songs in this brilliant artist's voice. |
