PowerShot SD870IS Highlights
Canon technology maximizes quality and performance Genuine Canon Face Detection Technology sets the focus, exposure, and flash automatically, leaving you free to compose a group, capture an unguarded moment, or coax the perfect smile.
With DIGIC III, your images boast superior quality, the camera operates at top efficiency and battery life is enhanced. What's more, DIGIC III enables Canon's Face Detection Technology and Red-eye Correction to give you better, more true-to-life people shots. Simply press the Shutter Button halfway down, and the camera automatically pinpoints the faces in the scene and chooses the ideal focus point. The camera controls exposure settings and flash to keep every face looking bright and natural. Red eyes can be corrected during playback. iSAPS Technology is an entirely original scene-recognition technology developed for digital cameras by Canon. Using an internal database of thousands of different photos, iSAPS works with the fast DIGIC III Image Processor to improve focus speed and accuracy, as well as exposure and white balance. Red-eye correction detects and corrects red-eye during playback. In unusual cases where red-eye is not automatically detected, it can easily be corrected manually during playback mode. The PowerShot SD870IS Digital ELPH features ISO 1600 and High ISO Auto settings that reduce the effects of camera shake and sharpen subjects in low-light situations, giving you greater shooting flexibility. 17 Shooting Modes, Including 10 Special Scene Modes Advanced presets for the best possible photos under certain conditions. ![]() Rating: - great so farso far so good. I did a lot of research before I bought this camera and so far I'm pleased. I really like the wide angle lens, large LCD screen, rechargable lithium ion battery and the color swap option. My only complaint is that the image on the screen looks grainy but the pictures are clear Rating: - Bought A Default Canon CameraI bought this camera back in April this year through Amazon. I didn't use it until the past week. Then I found out that the Date/Time setting doesn't work. It's not a major problem, but it can be very annoying that whenever I turned on the camera, the Date/Time setting popped up. I called Canon, I had to pay to ship in the camera to have it (a new camera) fix. Rating: - A recommended Camera Canon SD870ISCanon PowerShot SD870IS 8MP Digital Camera with 3.8x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Silver) Rating: - Great camera and buy!Great little camera. Quality of pictures is excellent and the wide-angle lens is fantastic. While the camera does not have an optical view finder, I have never felt the need for it. The LCD screen is large and works great even in the brightest of daylight. Only caveat is that for taking pictures of kids, faster picture-to-picture speed would be nice. However, I suspect that to obtain more speed while maintaining quality, one would need a SLR camera. Would definitely buy this camera again. Rating: - Excellent Little CamI bought this camera to replace an old Canon SD250 that was "lost". Great choice. It fits in a pocket, has a gorgeous LCD screen, starts quickly, and has a decent array of features. The image stabilization and facial detection work very well. So far, the battery has been able to last on a weekend trip taking almost 300 shots, but that will decrease. For me, the form factor makes the specialty batteries worth it. |
