Amazon.com:
For many listeners, Little Voice will be their first exposure to this soulful singer/songwriter, but it's actually Sara Bareilles' second record. Her first, the self-released Careful Confessions, led to a deal with Epic. Since then, Bareilles has opened for Marc Broussard and Maroon 5. She's also become a bonafide soundtrack queen with tracks featured in female-centric films Girl Play, Loving Annabelle, and Monster-in-Law. As with her out-of-print debut, the UCLA grad wrote every song on her first major label recording (Little Voice features re-worked versions of several demo numbers). Like the portrait on the back of the CD--Bareilles in strappy black dress and lace-free high-tops--the piano-playing chanteuse combines the sweet with the scruffy. While her jazzy pop melodies are radio-ready, her relationship-oriented lyrics can be unexpectedly salty ("Bottle Up" and "Come Round Soon" wouldn't pass FCC muster). A little profanity here and there, however, doesn't indicate tough-girl attitude--Amy Winehouse can rest easy--so much as a desire to express herself freely. As Bareilles explains in "Love Song," "I'm trying to let you hear me as I am." (Not surprisingly, her degree is in communications.) Fans of Sarah McLachlan and Alicia Keyes will find much to like here. --Kathleen C. Fennessy

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Best Album/Artist I've heard in a long time
When I first heard Sara Bareilles' single "Long Song" on the radio I thought it was a typical pop song, catchy, and fine with me until I heard it several times over and decided I liked this song enough to go check out the other work from this artist I had never heard of before.

It turns out that "Little Voice" has become my favorite album of this year, or the past two or so years for that matter. Not only is Sara's voice lovely and her tunes catchy, but the lyrics are absolutely beautiful. ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - 4-1/2 stars -- How about if I asked for it?
For those that don't know, Little Voice is actually Sara Bareilles' second album. Her first album was a self-published album called Careful Confessions but it has since gone out of print, which is why I can let slide the fact that several of the songs on there appear on THIS album. Anyway, I was first introduced to Sara on the Tonight Show, and then after "Love Song" blew up, I decided to check the album out.

This is one of those albums that makes you wonder why it took people so long to tune ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Beautiful Voice!
I was first introduced to Sara Bareilles via a tv commercial. Just loved the song ("Love Song") and found her voice to be amazing. Glad that that little bit of exposure to this talented artist led me to Amazon so that I could explore more of her work. This definitely will not be my last purchase of Sara's music. The vocal sounds, writing, and overall production of this cd left me wanting more!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Love it!
If you like anna nalick, norah jones etc you will love this! She is great!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Charming voice, but repetitive lyrics and music lack replayability
It is quite rare that I say or think this, but I can honestly say that I regret having purchased the entire album rather than the big single on it. Check out Youtube mixes of the other tracks, such as the dull self-important Vegas song, before making your purchase.

Also, note that Amazonunlike eMusic et al) only allows one download of a set of MP3s, so be sure to back it up as soon as you get it and/or buy the actual CD and rip it.
