Editorial Review:

Product Description:
BetterFly for Every Body One of swimmings most challenging strokes, the Butterfly, is given the Total Immersion instructional treatment in this DVD. After 40 years as mainly a freestyle swimmer, Total Immersion founder Terry Laughlin decided to transform himself into a complete swimmer at age 55 and the all-new drill sequences he developed in the process are illustrated in BetterFly for Every Body. Unique Features of the Total Immersion DVD series: 1) Live lesson with Terry Laughlin: Terry demonstrates and explains every step, what it contributes to the overall skill and how it relates to other skills in the sequence. It s like having a personal lesson with Terry. 2) Beneath the Surface: These segments were shot in a current pool, with both camera and swimmer stationary, allowing for lengthy study of the movements. We shot these segments from six different underwater and surface angles, including directly underneath and overhead. No instructional video has ever examined the strokes so thoroughly. 3) TI Coaches Practice: Watch TI coaches practice the key drills and the whole stroke, also from multiple angles. Also shows examples of imperfect skills illustrating likely stroke and drill errors to watch out for. 4) For Boomers: This section, never before included in any instructional video shows how to adapt your swimming to be better than ever in middle age. Though you may not be as strong or as supple as you were at 25, like Terry you can still swim your best by following the tips in this section.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Master's butterfly review
Wow, I could have used this butterfly lesson years ago. I did butterfly as a kid swimmer - mostly, just gutting it out with youth and energy - but without any finesse. As an adult, that wasn't working for me. I've been doing the described drills after my workouts and have definitely seen a change in my stamina and strength. I highly recommend this dvd. Once again, however, I wish there would have been information about turns and pushoffs as that is something I'll need in Masters' competitions. Great ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - a swimming must
This is a great DVD that can help anyone master fly. I am a competitive swimmer and this DVD has help me tremendously. I went from not being able to do fly to being able to compete in it.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - disappointing terry ... stick to freestyle
40 years as a freestyle swimmer gives authority to teach, 40 minutes as a butterfly swimmer does not. Watching a middle aged man give tips standing waist deep in a pool is vaguely embarrassing and poor use of video. The two insights given ( pierce the water and move over your anchored hands ) are hardly worth the price of admission. The Go-Swim video with Misty Hyman is more structured, helpful and insightful for an improvement-minded swimmer

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - I'm swimming better.. fly.
I wish I can say thank you very much in person to Terry Laughlin and equipment that made possible this DVD, this style is very hard for me and I'm improving by watching all the lessons in this excellent material.
