The latest CD in the series that has provided hipster parents with wordless, infant-friendly versions of Led Zeppelin, U2, Metallica, and many others takes a turn for the unapologetically melodic here, having its way with classics from "Here Comes the Sun" to "Hey Jude." The result is, as ever, powder-puffy yet inarguably palatable, whether you're the one swaddled in the crib or the one staring down into it waiting for the sandman to arrive. "Michelle" was a dozy song to begin with; here it's a doorway to a peaceful drift-off that, with any luck, will last long enough get the laundry done. --Tammy La Gorce Album Description: Golden slumbers await your little pride and joy at the end of lullaby road. The Beatles are the most famous songwriters of the twentieth century. Their songs are known by people of all ages here, there, and everywhere. The dreamy quality of their later work provides the blueprint for these beautiful lullaby interpretations. It will glide your little one out across the universe, through an octopus's garden, and lay them down in a slumberland of strawberry fields. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Just average lullaby cdNice change for parents from the usual lullaby cd's, but not a top pick for putting baby to bed. Rating: - Lullabies across the UniverseAt first,"Rockabye Baby: Lullaby Renditions of the Beatles" sounds like a cheesy concept album. In its own campy way, it works. The Beatles, in their psychedelic period, wrote kid-friendly songs like "Here comes the sun","Strawberry fields","Yellow Submarine" and the cosmic lullaby/meditation "Across the universe." Thankfully, these songs are on the album, albeit in the form of mellotron and glockenspiel. The Beatles kids' version is superior to the other compilations highlighting Metallica ... We also have the Zeppelin one, but I think it works best with bands that wrote beautiful songs/melodies. Absolute recommendation for lullaby music- I can't stand most of the other stuff and i don't think my baby can either. Rating: - Shipped quickly!A friend of mine and his wife had a baby just days after Christmas, and this was the perfect gift. They shipped it quickly, and now their baby has something that he loves to fall asleep to! Rating: - Great kid's music that won't annoy adults! These Rockabye cds are great. We have about 6 of them. We buy the one's that are of the bands we like. That way the kids listen to them before bed and we don't mind because we are singing the words in our heads to our favorite songs. Who ever created these is ingenious. No words and the music is changed just enough to make it sound kid friendly yet is so true to the original songs that you can't help humming along. Not too mention when a song comes on some where else I find my oldest humming along. It is ... Read More |
