Amassing worldwide acclaim as a guitar virtuoso, Marty came to the attention of Megadeth who were looking for a guitarist and the rest is history. Racking up sales of over 10 million records with Megadeth, Friedman continued to record solo records for Shrapnel, often embarking on musical forays far removed from his work with Megadeth. "LOUDSPEAKER" is exactly the kind of record that Friedman fans have been waiting for. It is heavy, melodic and digs down deep to his roots, reminiscent in style of his best selling Shrapnel solo record "Dragon's Kiss." Album Description: New solo album from former-Megadeth member and popular studio musician Marty Friedman. It's all instrumental, all aggressive guitar, and an all-out attack! Features guest performances from Steve Vai, John Petrucci, and Billy Sheen Album Details: Instrumental Solo Album from the Guitarist. With Steve Vai, John Petrucci, Billy Sheehan, etc. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Better With Every SpinTo me, much of Marty's later solo work has been hit and miss; He has obviously grown as a musician, and it was clear he was trying out some new styles and compositions. But I missed the 'Dragon's Kiss'/Cacophony days alot. And while there are always a few tracks on each of his post-'Dragon' works I like, this is the first CD in a long time I have actually listened to back to back...then played it over again. It took 3 listens until I finally got into the groove of all 11 tracks; This CD has some ... Read More Rating: - This is the way Marty Friedman ought to keep playing. He's back to a more metal genre, and I'm glad for it. This CD drives throughout, and is exactly what Marty ought to keep jamming out. This CD rocks!!! Rating: - Dear Kid RockTake your lame self and lock yourself in a room, and listen to this cd, and then feel free to hang yourself after realizing just how sadly you rank in. Or maybe drown in your vomit. Anyway, this album makes most heavy metal (and always rap) I heard this year sound drab and uninspired in comparison. There's no substitution for talent.... Rating: - I can't stop listening!!!!!!!Marty has totaly spoiled music for me now. I can't stop listening to Loudspeaker. I have Dragon's kiss, and perpetual Burn by Jason, return to Metalopolis by Chris Poland, Some Vai, Some Macalpine which i love one and all, but loudspeaker is so powerful, and beautiful, I can't decide which track I like best. I love instrmental metal. Who compares? Where can I find more like this? not jazz (Ohm), or even rock instrumental (Vai), But Heavy metal (without the cheesey cookie-monster vocals). Help! Rating: - Pure MartyThis is a killer example of Marty Friedman. A little heavier than his last few, this CD has shades of his Cacophony years with his trademark melody style. Like all Marty's music, the more I listen to it the better it gets. A must have for any guitar fan. |
