Editorial Review: Amazon.com Product Description: The SCC Super Z6 SZ435 winter traction product offers superior performance for pickups and SUVs with very limited operating clearance around the drive tires. Be ready for winter driving with an innovative solution that is a step beyond traditional tire chains. New Design Based on the "Z" family of products, the Super Z6 is designed for vehicles with restricted clearance around the drive tires. The Super Z6 requires only 6.33 millimeters (.25 inches) of sidewall clearance to operate, less than half the space required by most cable and tire chains.
Easy to Install A split outside cable with two fastening positions allows for easy installation without moving the vehicle, so there's no need to stop and retighten. The traction coils are manufactured from alloy steel to increase the lifespan of the product. The Super Z6 is also designed to prevent scratching of alloy or high performance tire rims. Versatility The Super Z6 is available to fit pickups and SUV tire sizes. It offers a unique combination of performance and convenience features for every user, including a "designed-in" rubber tightener, better all-around traction performance than conventional tire chains or cables, and greater durability. Designed for High Performance The Super Z6 has better compatibility with anti-lock brakes, traction control, all-wheel drive, and other electronically monitored control systems so as not to interfere with the normal handling characteristics of your vehicle. The unique design also offers a low potential for damage to vehicle body and mechanical components, even when abused. The Super Z6 SZ435 is designed for tires sizes from approximately 9.50-16.5LT up to 265 millimeters. Check the manufacturer's website for the exact product to fit your tire size. Also check your owner's manual for clearance specifications before installing winter traction products. ![]() Rating: - Just what I neededI've done the pre fit but have not had to use them yet. A pre-fit is a must. They fit great, but if you have never used them or seen them instaled, you will need the test to insure that it will be hasle free the day you do need them. Rating: - Cable clips did not fit together properlyI bought two sets of these chains before a snowboarding trip just in case we needed them at some point. Before we left, I opened one of the sets of chains to practice installing them on the vehicle and to check them for proper fit and operation. Installation would have gone incredibly smoothly were it not for the clips that link the cable on the outboard side of the tire. On the set of chains I opened, the crimps that linked the cable clips to the cable did not provide enough clearance to properly ... Read More Rating: - Excellent choiceFirst experience with tire chains and found them great. Very easy to install and uninstall. Bag is a little small for chains, but works ok. The best add-on was the plastic-long-sleeve gloves provided so you don't get your clothes and hands dirty. I strongly recommend them. Rating: - Tire chainsThe chains are a good quality and easy to use. Customer service was quick and the website easy to use. Rating: - Very Effective, but...I found this product effective. I traveled safely to my destination and had to drive about .5 miles up a steep hill to complete my journey. I was unable to climb the hill due to the amount of snow, had to back down, put the chains on and walked right up the hill. There were a couple exceptions as to why this item didn't get a higher rating. One of the yellow clips used to pull the chains tight in the middle of the tire came off and because of the tension is probably circling the atmosphere (I used ... Read More |
