Aspect Ratio: 1.33:1Audience Rating: Unrated Binding: DVD EAN: 0601143107498 Format: Closed-captioned, Color, Dolby, DVD-Video, Live, NTSC Label: Zoe Records Languages: Manufacturer: Zoe Records Number Of Items: 2 Publisher: Zoe Records Region Code: 1 Release Date: November 01, 2005 Studio: Zoe Records Theatrical Release Date: October 25, 2005 Editorial Review: Amazon.com: The show begins with rapturous applause from the audience, strobe-lit flashes of each original band member--Nick Rhodes, Simon LeBon, and the (unrelated) Taylors John, Andy, and Roger--and they're off. The reunited Duran Duran, filmed during a two-night stand at Wembley Arena in 2004, plunges into "(Reach Up for the) Sunrise," before launching into old favorites like "Hungry Like the Wolf" and "Something I Should Know." LeBon keeps the stage patter to a minimum; it's all about the music. On occasion, the Armani-clad quintet are joined by statuesque singer Sara Brown ("Come Undone," "Notorious," "The Reflex," etc.) and sax man Andy Hamilton ("Union of the Snake," "Rio"). As expected from a band that came to fame during the height of the video era, film and anime images are projected during certain numbers, such as "The Chauffeur," "Careless Memories" and "A View to a Kill" (grainy Rhodes-shot images of Liz Hurley rather than scenes from the James Bond outing of the same name). The one selection that doesn't quite fit the 20-song set is 1988's "I Don't Want Your Love." With Brown's help, they give it their all, but funk-metal isn't really Duran Duran's strong suit (although the song later appears as a 3D bonus feature). The deluxe edition includes a 10-track CD recorded during the same London engagement and a pair of 3D glasses. --Kathleen C. Fennessy Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - CoolIf you're a fan you'll love it. If you're not a fan you will become one. Rating: - Awesome visual pleasure for the Duran fanI ordered this set after renewing my love for the band from their latest release, Red Carpet massacre. Boy am I glad I purchased this. It gave me such visual pleasure to see these handsome men performing my favorite songs and introducing me to some songs that I was unaware of. I fell in love with What Happens Tomorrow, Come Undone and Reach Up for the Sunrise for the first time because I hadn't listened to or purchased a Duran Duran CD since their greatest hits came out years and years ago. I ... Read More Rating: - DisapointmentThe band is not the reason for this bad review, it is those irritating area codes. DVD doesn't work in Europe. The tip to Amazon: please, mention this in the product description! It is totally stupid to purchase a product, then wait it four weeks and the find out that the area code is wrong! I'm going to return this item. Rating: - Duran Duran Still RulesI have been a fan since "Hungry Like The Wolf" was first aired on MTV. I have all of their CD's and DVD's, but the "Live From London" DVD is by far my favorite. The band has matured, and they play with passion. It's no longer for the pop chart or to see if they could out rank Spandau Ballet. And the best thing is, they are no longer being chased by a bunch of screaming teenage girls, evidence from the audience in the video. I went to see one show when they toured America in 2005, and they rocked the ... Read More Rating: - andy taylor wash very coola very cool dvd. just a very good dvd with DD andy taylor rock. |
