From the supplier: Most experts equate the concept of internationalism with Woodrow Wilson's foreign policy which aimed to establish peace and promote prosperity through collective security action. However, historical evidence has shown that Wilson's policy is unrealistic and untenable. A more apt foreign policy guide is Theodore Roosevelt's philosophy that global peace and prosperity can only be gained through military preparedness and deterrence. Roosevelt stressed that the US should assert its military power to discourage would-be regional aggressors from haboring imperialistic ambitions.
