Album Description:
The Australian success story of 2004, 21-year-old singer-songwriter Missy Higgins had her critically acclaimed album The Sound of White certified quintuple platinum in her homeland and won an ARIA (Australia's Grammy) for Best Pop Release. Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Most amazing artist!
Missy Higgins is one of the few artists that I would say has true talent. Her lyrics are absolutely touching and the music, needless to say, was unique and perfectly fitted into the meanings of the lyrics. Her vocals are truely amazing also. I would give this album 50 stars if I could.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Disappointed
I had heard such great reviews for this artist and didn't bother to listen to any of the tracks and was disappointed in the cd. Don't know what I expected but it was a letdown.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Awesome
Missy Higgins has a lovely and mellow sound yet her music has substance. This one is well worth the purchase price.

Unfortunately, as others have noticed, her accent becomes annoying very quickly. I realize that sounds like a petty complaint, but the fact is, it's distracting to a lot of her would-be listeners. I found it completely pulling me out of the music to contemplate why "white" sounds like "woit" and "light" sounds like "loit."

I'd never advocate anyone changing their accent or anything ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Grating vocals...
At first I thought it was going to be Ok but by the third track the vocals were just annoying, especially those awful "harmonies".

The music itself is pretty bland. Pretty much what you'd expect if you put a bunch of studio musicians together for a couple of days to make an album. The only interesting touch was the strings (probably the only thing I really liked on this album). Everything else has been done to death before.

Buy this only if you've never heard any other sort of ... Read More
