Editorial Review: Product Description: Canon Cameras (2605A004) 58mm Haze UV-1 Amazon.com Product Description: The Canon UV-1 filter for 58mm lenses absorbs harmful ultraviolet rays without increase of exposure, thereby preventing haziness and foggy effects in distant landscapes. It also has a very subtle warming effect, which can be useful to counter the "cool" colors you sometimes get in bright sun or in shade. It can be left on the lens at all times for protection of the camera's lens. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Good but don't see much differenceI am using this UV filter for around an year along with my Canon G9. To be true don't see much difference in the output with the filter. The price of canon is always much more compared to the others. I would recommend you to explore other filters that would be cheap and would serve your purpose. Rating: - Better protect that lense. If your a newbie to DSL's like I am and you read to better your skill's, you can see it mentioned often "-to put on a protective filter over your expensive lense." I got one like this with a camera bag/kit and ordered up another one for my telephoto. It's glass/clear and has a metal ring. I'm not real sure about the haze part of this description but think Safety Glasses for your lenses. The price isn't all that bad, I don't think. Rating: - Canon UV-1 filter for the winThe quality of this product is very good. Feels much nicer than some of the cheap alternatives. I can't really say for sure how much this helps reduce the so called "haze" but I will say that it's definitely reassuring to have a protective layer between the outside world and your expensive lenses. I would recommend this product for any one who has a lens that they value. Rating: - basicBasic protection for your digicam. Made in the Philippines, but built well and clear.
