But it's not as though this is a trashy harlequin romance novel with some tempestuous scene dipicted on the cover, rampant with heaving bosoms and the like. Read More Rating: - More than just romanceI read Elise after reading an obituary on author Ken Grimwood, in which the plot outlines of a few of his books were mentioned. I opted to read Replay, Breakthrough, and Elise. Replay was just fantastic, a terrific read. Breakthrough was a tough read, as I found most of it boring, and this was the true romance book of the three. I enjoyed Elise as much as I did Replay. It's basically about a woman who seems to stop aging and her various experiences with husbands and lovers throughout a few centuries. There were some interesting thoughts, like would you really want to remain youthful forever? But, in general, it was more of a romance novel.
