Peter Collinson directs those two as well as Noel Coward, Raf Vallone, Rossano Brazzi, and Irene Handl in a story about the effort to steal gold bullion from the town of Turin. Screenwriter Troy Kennedy Martin eschews heist film tradition by placing more emphasis on the gang's getaway than on the complex robbery itself. The film's main claim to comic fame is a wild chase scene set against an enormous traffic jam. Excellent sound and image. Unfortunately without spanish subtitles. A must for car lovers. Not just Minis but a lot of Alfa Romeos, Lamborghinis, Jaguars, Dino Fiats and Aston Martins. Rating:  - Terrible! Get the remake with Mark WahlbergI LUV the remake of this flick, and decided to get the original. After all, most of the time, I like the original more than the remake. Boy, was I wrong. This movie was TERRIBLE! The acting was fine, but it's totally dated in script and actions of characters. And it was a slow mover. Want to see it? Get the remake with Mark Wahlberg. Rating:  - Not The Best But Worth A LookI saw the 2003 remake of The Italian Job before I saw the 1969 version. The chief difference between the films is that the first film is a comedy while the second is meant as an action-drama. The first Italian Job is filled with a large number of gang members about whom we know nothing in the film concentrating on the main players - Michael Caine and Noel Coward.
