The band are often compared to the Pogues and fellow punk band, The Dropkick Murphys. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - pure awsomnessThis is one of my new favorite cd's. I'm new to their music and am in love with it. Rating: - A godsend. When my son was born, we tried everything to make him stop crying. Everything. He had colic for four months, cried 9 hours a day, and the ONLY thing that would put him to sleep, was this CD. Don't ask me why, it's not the calmest music out there, but from the first few picks and drum beats in "Drunken Lullabies", he would stop crying and fall asleep within the first couple songs. No Celt can resist dancing or singing along to this album full of craic and good ballads of Irish life and politics and drinking and the lasses...I can see the track 'Rebels of the Sacred Heart' becoming a new pub favorite. All of their talents are displayed here. I find it easy to play this album 5 or 6 times in a row and only stop because I have to return ... I think part of the reason for this is the variety- you get your slow songs, faster songs and the pure energy songs. Album highlights for me include, well, almost every song on the album! I can't help but sing along to most of the songs, and the album has so much energy that it's great for parties or just re-energizing after a long day. Highly recommended. ... Read More Rating: - Good Irish Pub Rock / PunkIf you like bands like The Pogues, Dubliners etc. you will like this as well. Nothing really surprising or new, just good Irish folklore in "pub rock" or even punk style. Big load of energy and sentiments. Listening this, all you want to do is go to good Irish pub, collect couple pints of Guinness and probably switch to Irish whiskey later... |
