Beneath their smirky sinister grins and wildly patterned clothes are clever killers from out of this world. The "juxtaposition of their toy-store arsenal and malevolent intent proves to be a tasty combination" (Los Angeles Times) in this killer entertainment that will leave you fearing these big-top creatures for good.A spaceship looking like a circus tent lands in a field near a small town signaling the attack of deviant red-nosed balloon-twisting psychos from another world who plan to annihilate mankind by turning people into cotton candy! Luckily the town's teen citizenry decides to fight back and teach the cosmic bozos a lesson. But these klowns are no klutzes turning popcorn peanuts and caramel corn into playful but deadly weapons of madcap destruction and mayhem!System Requirements:Running Time: 86 Min.Format: DVD MOVIE Genre: SCI-FI/FANTASY UPC: 027616865618 Manufacturer No: 1002350 Amazon.com essential video: What's completely and utterly baffling about Killer Klowns is not the plot--that's rather tidily summed up by the title--but the fact that it got made at all. According to the filmmakers, (the Chiodo brothers: Charles, Edward, and Stephen) all it took to convince the studio was a one-page treatment and a picture of a clown holding a gun. It boggles the mind. Anyway, some killer Klowns descend from outer space and start wrapping their hapless victims in cotton candy for later consumption. Debbie and Mike suspect something's amiss, but who will believe them? The movie's greatest asset is its willingness to play on the inherent creepiness of clowns. The Klowns are grotesque parodies of their big-top cousins, hiding hideous malformed teeth behind terrifying circus makeup. It's impossible to tell if Killer Klowns is truly meant to be scary, but it is compelling in its thoroughness: popcorn, balloon animals, and really big shoes are all used to their fullest effect. The only cast member you'll recognize immediately is veteran character actor John Vernon as Officer Mooney, but keep an eye out for Christopher Titus in a small role as Bob McReed. Then just sit back and stare open-mouthed in bewildered joy. --Ali Davis Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - WHAT IF TIM BURTON MADE THE BLOB?! 4 1/2 STARS!A rare occurrence, when a film this silly turns out to be so great! 'Killer Klowns From Outer Space' is a wonderful homage to the Sci-Fi and monster movies of the 50's. While watching this ultra campy "Cult Classic" you can't help, but think of 'The Blob' film from 1958. The story pretty much follows the same basic story line except no blob, just really sinister looking space klowns! The clown make-up is fantastic and the sets look like Pee Wee's Playhouse on acid! Clever use of all ... Read More Rating: - A subtle, classy, intellectual filmHuh-huh. Not. This movie rode the horror short bus. So awesomely retarded. So stupidly brilliant. The coolest of the cool. The dumbest of the dumb. The cultiest of the cult. One of the most entertaining movies EVER freakin' made. That is no joke. I know what you're thinking--evil klowns from outer space trying to destroy mankind--how lame. Well, no argument there. Still this somehow works in a big way. Watch these sinister bozos shoot their cotton candy photon guns. Or ... It stars Grant Cramer, Susanne Snyder, John Allen Nelson, and John Vernon. Our story starts off on a quiet night in the small town of Cresent Crove. After a brief introduction to officer Mooney(Vernon; see if you can spot Christopher Titus), We are introduced to Mike(Cramer)and Debbie(Snyder), two young adults spending time together at the local make-out spot. Their night out is interupted ... Read More Rating: - Killer KlownsI first watched this movie when I was 13 or 14. It's not scary at all but it is funny. May not be for ppl that doesn't like clowns already but hey give it a try. Rating: - Ridiculously camp! Deliciously horrible! Welcome back to the 80's!Somehow, this film kept eluding me for years until I finally got it from Amazon two decades after it was made. Of course it is a cheap, campy, ridiculous B-movie... but it is very enjoyable at the same time. A spaceship looking like a circus tent lands on a small town. Aliens looking like monstrous clowns go on a rampage, attacking everybody and putting them on cotton candy cocoons from which they feed. Unbelievable? Yes. Improbable? Yes. With lots of unexplained twists? Yes. Some ... Read More |
