Editorial Review:

Amazon.com:
The former National Basketball Association superstar, who has over 5,000 rebounds, comes back with his fourth album, and like the title suggests, it is a personal work with some instrumental depth and a varied R&B flavor. The 10-song set starts off slamming with "Loveplay," a track that reveals that the giant electric bass player is gaining more control over his style, and infusing less of the nuances of his musical mentor, Stanley Clarke. From there the album plunges headlong into modern R&B with a contribution from the female vocal trio Out of Eden. Those two tracks tell the tale of this album, as the selections are either well-orchestrated smooth-jazz cuts, superbly coproduced by saxophonist David Mann, or lush vocal tracks, one featuring the former lead singer of the group Surface, Bernard Jackson. And just when Tisdale is finding his own voice on bass, he debuts as a singer on the title track. He serves himself well, but it's not a three-point play. In fact, this album is playing two half-court games--one in the smooth-jazz yard, the other in the grooves of R&B. --Mark Ruffin

This is a smooth Cd that puts my mind at ease I really like it!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A FACE TO FACE POINT OF VIEW.
This is my favorite jazz CD, I play it almost everyday. Every song is the bomb. The songs have meaning, and are sung by talented voices. His music has so much rhythm, that you would think it's a regular R&B CD. For those of you who are not into jazz music, this CD will convert you; I'll guarantee it.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - In your face and heart to stay!
"Face to Face" puts you in the face of true love... with yourself, your Savior, and your soulmate!

This is a wonderfully flavorful CD, mixing jazz with R&B. I love the smooth jazz tunes and soulful lyrics. As you listen to the smooth sounds of "Brand New" and others, you will be swept away by the confessions of love in "When I Opened Up My Eyes" and "Face to Face". The music creates an atmosphere that will make you wrap your arms around yourself because true love begins within!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - STRONG MOVE TO THE POST!
Let's face it, Wayman Tisdale was not the greatest power forward in the NBA and only a handful of NBA fan's outside of the Sacramento area probably even remember him. Therefore, unlike Shaq who sells worthless CD's on his name recognition alone, Wayman has had to prove his worth to music fans all over the world. On "Face to Face" Tisdale proves his worth by writing 6 of the 10 songs on the CD in addition to playing some very nice smooth Jazz on his bass. One thing Tisdale has obviously learned ... I'm a very picky and fickle music lover but this had to be in my collection no doubt! My only problem is that it's too short. Undoubtedly leaves you wanting more.
