![]() Rating: - Gravel sans velvetI love this guy... a story teller, a poet, a singer. Get Melody Nelson. And check out his talented daughter's (Charlotte Gainsbourg) work in film (Science of Sleep; Jane Eyre) and on disc (5:55). Rating: - Get in Your Car and DriveMelody Nelson didn't do it for me right away. I kept at it though and now I can't get away. This album has a way of creeping into your existence and taking it over. I live in New York City so i don't have a car but for all of you that do, buy this album, get into it, and drive. Melody Nelson was made for late night drives. And with this album (considered ... Read More Rating: - Serge Gainsbourg'S masterpieceThe first time I heard Melody Nelson, it was in Paris, year 1977 at a friend's home. My friend pointed how "funny" were some of the lyrics (" tandis qu'hurle la radio"} but all i remember is how I loved the music...Some years went by and one day I decided to get the Integrale Gainsbourg, which is the cd collection of all he wrote and composed ( A LOT !!! ) and then I could listen to Melody Nelson in full....At that time of my life I was a DJ in a disco in Cannes in the south of France and some mornings after ...
