Editorial Review: Product Description: Film, as well as video, often exhibits a greater sensitivity to what is to us invisible, ultraviolet light. This is most often outdoors, especially at high altitudes, where the UV-absorbing atmosphere is thinner; and over long distances, such as marine scenes. It can show up as a bluish color cast with color film, or it can cause a low-contrast haze that diminishes details, especially when viewing far-away objects, in either color or black-and-white. Ultraviolet filters absorb UV light generally without affecting light in the visible region. It is important to distinguish between UV-generated haze and that of air-borne particles, such as smog. The latter is made up of opaque matter that absorbs visible light as well as UV, and will not be appreciably removed by a UV filter. The UV Protector shields lens from dust, moisture, scratches, and breakage. Amazon.com Product Description: Protects lenses from dust, moisture, scratches, and other damage. These filters can be kept on the camera at all times. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Tiffen 52mm UV protection filterI bought this filter to simply serve as protection for the front of my lens. Great price, and quality from Tiffen is nice. Rating: - works as advertisedWorks fine so far! This filter is inexpensive but works as advertised. You simply MUST put a filter on your high-dollar lenses, or risk damage to the glass of the lens. Rating: - works great just a little problem with night shotsThis filter works wonderful, but as with most filters there is a little glare if you try to use it at night. Fortunately there's an easy fix, just take it off and the camera is good to go. Rating: - Ode to an 0.3 Neutral Density FilterI love your neutral greyness and the way you reduce the light rays that strike my sensor by one stop. You screw-in and screw out, 52 mm no doubt. You are something I cannot do without. I Adore--rama you. Rating: - Why pay more??Tiffen filters are great for the price. The circular polarizer turns drab midday skies to beautiful blue. You will not be disappointed. You can certainly pay more for a polarizer, but why? |
