![]() Rating: - Beautiful Songs, Beautiful Voice, Beautiful MusicThis CD came up as an Amazon suggestion. I listened to the preview tracks and liked what I heard. Now that I've had the CD for about a month, I really like this disc. It's very pleasant. Emiliana has a wonderful voice. The songs are somewhat chillout like. I think that if you like Dido, Beth Orton, Suzzane Vega, Sarah MacLaughlin, and Natalie Merchant (toss in a bit of Chillout); you will likely enjoy Emiliana. She was a very pleasant surprise to me. Not at all Bjork like. Rating: - Took me by surprise! ! !Emiliana Torrini is amazing! I never knew a thing about her until I was looking at a "Perfecto Chills" CD and "Love in the Time of Science" was recommended. I'm glad I gave a listen and now I must have this CD. The comparison to Bjork is there at times but to me she sometimes reminds me of Corinne Bailey Rae who is also a favorite. The track Ms.Torrini did with Thievery Corporation is also great. Glad I checked her out. Rating: - taking a chance on something newThis album is absolutley worth every penny... I took a chance just listening to my boyfriend talk about trip hop and so I decided to take a look at what amazon had and this Emiliana Torrini album stood out and I am really glad... it has different dream elements that makes you feel like your floating... so if you like different kinds of music other than the everyday droll of today take a chance like I did and you might just find some really awesome music that you wouldn't have found otherwise... ... Read More Rating: - A Hidden Gem...I discovered Emiliana Torrini through listening to Bjork and the first album that I heard was her second, "Fisherman's Woman." The minimalist music was interesting and the songs were pretty, so I purchased it and listened to it when in the mood. It wasn't until recently that I decided to give her first album "Love in the Time of Science" a chance, especially since I'm a very big Tears for Fears fan and knew that Roland Orzabal had produced some of it. From the first listen, these ... Read More Rating: - Awesome! This album is such a refreshing treat...Emiliana Torrini has to be one of the most underrated icelandic artist! Her voice fits well with her electronia/trip hop musical world...i enjoyed every song on this album. However, i felt like "Unemployed in the Summertime" didn't fit in with the rest of the songs in this album, it was a bit too poppy cheerful to be in an album where most of the tracks are eerie, icy, yet beautiful and warm. Oh well...still love Emiliana Torrini! This is the album to start with...she ... Read More |
