![]() Rating: - Very good collectionI loved this CD so much. My dad bought it for me when I was like 12. then I lost it and I almost cried. I bought it again because i coudlnt live without it. a great song for relaxing at night. WEll known songs and some not so well known stuff, but its all first rate Rating: - Music at it's BestI a huge music fan and this cd is one of Nipper's best. Come on, Fred Astaire, Duke Ellington,Tommy Dorsey, and Bing Crosby to name a few on this cd you can't go wrong. Truly America's music. Rating: - Worth the price for sure!I used this to provide background music for a special "Great Depression" exhibit my history students put together for the rest of the school. GREAT selection for representing the 1930s, except for a real important omission: "Brother, Can You Spare A Dime" is not on this CD and it should be. Other than that, the tunes are right on target and Kate Smith's rendition of "God Bless American" is wonderful. Rating: - collectionsIf you are interested in 20th century popular music this can help cut down on large volume purchases. It is a good sampling. Rating: - Nipper's Greatest Hits The 30's Volume 1A nice collection of 20 period songs that include some familiar selections such as Happy Days are Here Again, Stardust, We're In The Money, Moonlight Serenade and Kate Smith with Orchestra singing God Bless America along with 15 others. These are old recordings and a few do not have great sound quality as versions done later, but, are authentic. Amazon.com's music samples were very helpful. |
