It's also one of the few albums from the period that doesn't sound dated now, and singles like "Pour Some Sugar On Me", "Armageddon It", and "Rocket" remain staples of rock radio. The rest of the album is equally entertaining; "Animal" and "Hysteria", while mid-tempo, have the same slick intensity, and "Love Bites" is one of the few pop-metal ballads that doesn't sound saccharine over a decade after its release. Def Leppard may be remembered more for their hair than their music these days, but that's more due to changing tastes than anything else. It's still good. --Genevieve Williams Album Description: Two CD deluxe edition of the UK hard rockers' classic 1987 album in a fold-out digipak housed within a clear slipcase. Disc One features the original album digitally remastered plus four tracks: 'Tear It Down', 'Ride Into The Sun' (1987 Re-recording), 'I Wanna Be Your Hero' and 'Ring Of Fire'. Disc Two is jam-packed with rarities including four tracks recorded Live in Holland, one track recorded Live in Denver, remixes of 'Animal', 'Pour Some Sugar On Me', 'Armageddon It', 'Excitable' and 'Rocket', plus 'Release Me'. Universal. 2006. Album Details: Japanese Version featuring a Bonus Track: Love and Affection (Live). Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - The Perfect 80's Rock AlbumThis was the first album I ever bought back in 1988. I remember having my dad take me to the music store and him not understanding why they misspelled "deaf" and "leopard" in the band's name. Anyway, I wore this tape out and I am still not tired of listening to it. It's a more radio friendly version of Def Leppard as the harsh guitar tones have been replaced with the smooth effects-laden guitar tones of the mid to late 80's. I really believe Phil Collen had a big impact on the sound of this record. ... Read More Rating: - More of pop rockDef Leppard's first 3 cds i though were great. Then this cd came out. Just seems more of a pop rock cd. I guess thats cool if you like that kinda stuff, but if you like heavier def leppard go get High N Dry or Pyromania. Both really good records. Rating: - Excellent double CD! A classic like it MUST BE!!!The best Hard Rock Album of the 80's Remastered as it MUST Be. (Several Artists should do the same and get the same support from their record company). Is a really gift for Def Leps Fans and music collectors. If the original sound and vibe of this record is great, now remastered is awesome!, songs such as: Animal, Gods of War, Hysteria and also the songs that weren't singles: Run Riot, Don't shoot shotgun Sounds Amazing! You can enjoy and remember the good times on the 80's and high energy ... Read More Rating: - The Soundtrack of the 1980'sThis is the best album of the 1980's. It goes right to the edge of selling out without doing so.......Hysteria amounts to a greatest hits album....20 million sold...and 20 years later it is still better than anything on the radio. Rating: - HysteriaI love this cd!!!! My fav. rock band of all time!!! Rocket is my fav. that became a hit but my all time fav. is Run Riot!! Have every thing they played!!! |
