![]() Rating: - Excellent introduction to BangladeshComing from the United States, I arrived in Bangladesh not knowing what to expect. During my first several weeks there I was confused by much of the way society functioned. I happened upon a copy of Bangladesh: Promise and Performance and virtually devoured it. While the writing can be a bit dry for some - it's really more a collection of academic papers than anything - it provides an excellent background from which to approach an understanding of Bangladeshi society.
