Imbued with otherworldly powers but invisible to the living, she haunts her beloved home, scaring away trespassers -- until she encounters a ruthless immortal even more terrifying than Néomi herself. To prevent him from harming others, Conrad Wroth's brothers imprison him in an abandoned manor. But there, a female only he can see seems determined to drive him further into madness. The exquisite creature torments him with desire, leaving his body racked with lust and his soul torn as he finds himself coveting her for his own. Yet even if Conrad can win Néomi, evil still surrounds her. Once he returns to the brutality of his past to protect her, will he succumb to the dark needs seething inside him? Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Another great story from a great story teller!!!!!!I can't say enough about how much I loved this story. Kresley Cole is was of the best writers of Paranormal romance. I would say she is the best but I haven't read every author. I can tell you that this story will keep you hooked from the beginning to the end and you will never be bored. The steamy love story will also make you want to jump your mate. So watch out !!! This is one of those stories that you will keep for re-reads later. Rating: - Love the Heroine and the refreshing plotThis was a fun fast paced read. I found the plot fascinating. The heroine became a ghost when her jealous ex-fiance murdered her in cold blood. But, the book doesn't make her into a pitiful ghost. She is a very curious one, who enjoyed watching the people who lived in her house, and she has other quirks too. I like how the author created these 2 immortals and explained their powers and traits. I love how, in this book, the heroine has more sexual experience than the hero, and it ... Read More Rating: - Give me a Lyke any day...I'm so over the tortured Vampire thing. I think Sebastain's story set the bar, which Conrad's book couldn't live up to. The madness monologing was torturous to read, and by the time Conrad started to heal, the book was half over! Maybe it's the loyalty to their mates or the single-minded, drive but the werewolf stories are so much more endearing. Lots of sneaking in dark corners, and not enough achieving of goals. Rating: - First Time To Rate A Book One StarI guess I'm in the minority here. I've absolutely loved all of Cole's books and was so looking forward to this one. I got halfway though and sort of skimmed through the rest hoping it would get better. I didn't find either character interesting and really didn't care for one of the characters being a ghost. J.R.Ward tried that in one of her books and I didn't care for that book either. I didn't find either character in this book either sexy or entertaining. The book pretty much left me flat. I'm looking ... Read More Rating: - Fun and SexySeeing how other reviewers have given a quick summary of the book - I will get staight to the point. KC's latest addition to the IAD series is hilarious, fun and sexy. There is absolutely nothing boring or slow in this story. I love the unique characters. A dead burlesque dancer/ballerina and a mad vampire. This heroine is not shy either! She is gutsy and bold - my favorite kind of heroine! Conrad is rather dark and brooding - yet his love is intense. I love KC's writing because her chacters ... Read More |
