Editorial Review:

Product Description:
Building on the tremendous success of Bird Songs (250,000 copies sold), The Backyard Birdsong Guides are regional, interactive handbooks of birds and their songs for beginning bird-watchers. With a touch-button electronic module housing common vocalizations of 75 species from across Eastern and Central North America, this volume offers a truly sensory way to identify and get to know local birds. Crisply detailed and scientifically accurate illustrations accompany each entry, and up-to-date range maps from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology provide clear geographical reference points. Complete with an introduction to birdsong that will inspire readers to look out their kitchen windows and venture out in the field, this unique book provides an exciting entryway into the subtle art of birding.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Offering an interactive format in audio word as well as written language and visual images
Any home library strong in field guides probably has more than one bird book; but this is something different, offering an interactive format in audio word as well as written language and visual images. Some seventy unique birds from Eastern North America are featured in a book which offers one-touch buttons of digital audios to pair with descriptions of songs, calls and behaviors. Home birders who want to identify by more than pictures will find this an easy, appealing guide with a difference.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Out Yard Birdsong Book
What a great book. It makes it easy to learn the songs of so many birds! My grandkids love it! Just what I hoped it would be, and great service by seller.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Wonderful to hear the Bird's Voices!
North American Backyard Birdsong Guide is a Wonderful book for older children and also adults. It becomes a wonderful lesson to hear and see the birds.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Backyard Birdsong Guide
What a novel idea, a picture book of birds which not only informs the reader about each one BUT also has the sounds made by each bird with some giving both the male and female tune. This is not the run of the mill children's book but a very adult reference that should not be missing in any home where birding is of interest. This particular publication represents those birds found in the Eastern and Central United States but there are also books for other areas.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Backyard Birdsong Guide:Eastern and Central North America
Fantastic guide! We use it with our grandchildren and let them use the binoculars to see if they can find any of the birds they saw in the book. Hearing the bird calls and reading about their habitats really encourages adults and children alike an interesting way of developing a love of nature. I would highly recommend this guide to anyone who wants to learn more about birds of their region or has children or grandchildren who could benefit from this knowledge.
