Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Another great book by Elizabeth Pantly!
This is a great book. It really puts things into perspective. Read it....it's a good one! I would recommend this book to all parents!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Pro-active parenting the positive way!
Although I try to give my child my best love and support and guidance, I've often wondered if I was doing it "right". This book was full of "Aha! So that's what I was missing!" moments, as well as "Duh - of course! No wonder why!" and "Wow, I never even thought of that before!" moments for me. The book is divided into chapters on:

- Responsibility and Independence
- Thoughtfulness and Kindness
- Annoyance and Anger
- Relationships
- Discipline and Behavior

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A must-read for every parent
No exaggeration: this book may well change your relationship with your children forever. With amazing insight, Elizabeth Pantley gives us a glimpse into our children's souls during everyday exchanges: grocery shopping, coming home from work, and other ordinary times in our day. What she reveals will definitely make you think twice about some of the ways you've responded in the past. Who among us hasn't brushed off a child who wants to play? Phone calls, email, dishes, and laundry await. But Pantley's ... Read More

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - These messages are obvious
I bought this book because I loved the No Cry Sleep Solution. After reading the first three examples and the "hidden" messages, I was completely disappointed and returned the book. I found that I didn't even need to finish reading the chapter to guess at what the message was. In one of the chapters, Pantley uses an example from her own parenting. I thought, okay, now she's going to share with us one of her mistakes and how she learned from it, and was about to give her some credit for being honest ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Challenging me to better parenting!
Reading this book has been a seriously eye-opening experience for me. While I "knew" that our children are little sponges and take in everything around them, I had no idea how many "hidden messages" I was giving my daughter that were so negative. I truly saw myself as an excellent and attached parent, and I still do, but this book has truly called me to a deeper parenting model. Not everyone comes from a wonderful family of origin, and this book showed me how many things I was passing on that I had ... Read More
