![]() Rating: - Are You People Kidding? This is not a 5 star film. And I have to agree with Acute Observer in finding this not realistic or believable in many aspects. As flawed as our government is I highly doubt that the FBI would allow a club that hunts young black men to continue on while they look for more evidence. And I found it impossible to believe that Debra Winger's character could continue to love Berenger after discovering that he was a racist murderer. This film is a guilty pleasure- albeit a wierd one. It plays more ... Read More Rating: - Well Made Movie but an Undeserved Assault on Middle AmericaThe movie is well made, well acted with good pacing. One problem....am I the only one here who has noticed this trend out of Hollywood that would lead us to believe that there are no normal people out there? It has been an ongoing assault by the Hollywood left to make us believe that everyone is as narcissistic and dysfunctional as themselves and those who are being pandered to here......genuinely screwed up people who try and take comfort in the myth that they are normal because EVERYONE is just ... (This event inspired the "Talk Radio" play and film.) This film continues with scenes from a small town in a farming region. No mention of their economic status; are they losing dollars and population, small businesses, etc. Instead we see a small group of white racists who abduct a black man to hunt and kill him! This seems too exaggerated to believe. Federal agents are aware of this ... Read More Rating: - Stunning performances from Berenger and WingerThis is an incredibly memorable film about white supremicists that explores racism in it's most extreme form. Debra Winger is an undercover agent who infiltrates a community of seemingly innocent hard working farmers but as the film progresses the hatred and evil lurking beneath the surface becomes more and more evident. Shocking at times and realistically written and acted, this is a thought provoking and disturbing movie that deserves more attention than it has received. Not one you will soon forget. |
