![]() Rating: - Take the Title SeriouslyThis was my first 'for Dummies' book, and I really didn't take the title seriously enough. You might imagine that this book takes this approach: How should the material be presented so that anyone can begin learning Portuguese? This is not the case. Expressed more accurately, it's approach is: Exactly how much beginner Portuguese can a complete idiot handle? As fas as this purpose goes, the book is a success, but for over 300 pages of text far too little material is covered, and it really makes ... Read More Rating: - Spend your money elsewhereThis book is simply terrible for learning Portuguese. I found it completely unhelpful (and in some cases incorrect). If you have any desire to learn the language, there are many better sources. Rating: - Forget the CDThe book is mildly useful but don't even bother with the included CD. It's a bunch of verbose recorded dialogs that don't match up in any way with the book. You can find better resources than this book on the web for free. |
