I really liked the atmosphere she created in this universe and it was appealing and different having the main couple already essentially 'paired' from the get go, i.e. not having to worry about the will they won't they aspect, but still being able to see their relationship with each other grow and develop. It was a nice touch to see featured some of the secondary characters from the Mercy Thompson novels and to learn more about the Marok and his motivations. I hope he gets his own book soon.
