Since Jack Mitchell barged into her life, librarian Aubrey Sullivan has been abducted at gunpoint, taken on a death-defying car chase, and kissed within an inch of madness. If only she does what he says, they might just get out of this mess alive. That is, if they can keep their hands off each other long enough to think straight. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Laugh-out loud romantic suspense! This is a very funny romantic suspense. The dialogue consists of lots of witty comebacks between the hero and heroine. I found myself laughing so hard at some of the banter between them, particularly in the first part of the book. The plot though was somewhat unbelievable, and that is why I gave it four stars. Also, the hero was supposedly very good-looking, yet the heroine was somewhat of a plain Jane. The chemistry though was hot! I have placed Penny McCall's other books on my TBR list. Rating: - Explosive actionHeart pounding intense chemistry between Jack and Aubrey keep the reader glued to each page. Hang up the do not disturb sign.~Affaire de Coeur Rating: - As bad as the others sayI read the other reviews before I read the book. I wasn't sure who to believe so I thought I would give it a chance. The entire book was about the heroine arguing with the hero. The hero arguing back and everyone throwing in the heroines face the fact that she is too skinny. There was no depth to the characters only verbal, mean, sparring back and forth. I have no idea how they decided they loved each other at the end. I read the entire book but wish I hadn't. I'm a big fan of books that don't ... Her photographic memory has put her on a Colombian drug lord's hit list, and if undercover agent Jack can't find out what she knows, he'll be framed as a mole. As bullets fly, she reluctantly joins Jack on the run, thwarting him every step of the way. He thinks she's and egghead; she thinks he's a Neanderthal; along the way, they bicker ... Read More Rating: - First half not so good, second half MUCH betterI found the first half of this book to be overdone regarding the female protagonist. This is one of those many books where the heroine is portrayed as a strong woman just because she argues alot and fights the hero every step of the way (in this case, even though he's trying to save her life!). Conflict is, of course, an integral part of any novel, but come on! The two main characters bicker over everything! Enough! This was a book I COULD put down and almost did. However, I kept reading ... Read More |
