This book is wonderful. I highly recommend it not only for professional hypnosis practitioners, but also for anyone who likes learning. I read this book more than a couple of times, it gives me new ideas each time I pick it up.
The perspective of Erickson is what you should be after while reading The Teaching Tales, because once you learn to appreciate his point of view, you get to grow as a people-helper.

My interest, and fascination, with Milton Erickson's approach to psychological issues came about as a result of reading, "Uncommon Therapy" by Jay Haley. The many examples of Erickson's unconventional approach were an intellectual treat to read, consider, and extrapolate upon.
