Rating: - Adobe CS3 Classroom in a BookAs a novice with Photoshop, other than Elements, I was looking for something that a beginner could use. This book was just the thing. Broken up into 1-2 hour lessons, it takes the user step by step through each lesson. The included CD with working files and some videos allows the user to see a final product before starting on each lesson. The only down side to the book, and for some it will be a major downside, is that many of the reasons behind techniques are not well explained. ... By the time chapter 6 is reached the material is more difficult to grasp but the chapter is well written but the material should be broken up into either a separate chapter or into more chapters. This is primarily because the subject matter involves sometimes subtle effects. Have not made it past this point in the book yet but at about halfway through the book it looks good. Rating: - Excellent teaching bookExcellent book for the novice to learn photoshop. The CD has the lessons and the descriptions take you through a step at a time, VERY easy to learn. And it's not necessary to go through in order, you can jump to whatever technique you want to learn next. |
