The cd program was for a much younger child, but he was able to go through the dictionary and learn some words on his own while I look for another age appropriate audio program. Rating:  - OkayIt is a little cumbersome - more of a reference rather than a enjoyable learning book. Probably would not purchase it if I had it to do over again.... I think what she likes so much about it is that the book uses a visual method with 2 page spreads that visually communicate the meanings of words. This huge-size dictionary has her learning from detailed depictions of people, places, actions, and things. She is learning about things that she can actually relate to like things in the home, the classroom, sports, and animals. There is also a helpful index and glossary for parents to use.
